A lot has been happening at Rasell’s since we closed for Christmas. The borders have been cut back and dug over, allowing the many snowdrops, iris and other spring bulbs to come through. Due to the mild weather there is a lot to look at in our borders already, with some herbaceous and later spring bulbs already showing themselves. Hellebores are all looking good but the absolute stunner of the show is Helleborus ‘Penny’s Pink’,it has masses of flowers standing tall over shiny, bold foliage-definitely worth asking where it is to have a gander.

All the climbers over our pergola have been pruned, though there isn’t anything in flower the roses are already shooting and the Akebia quinata is smothered in buds ready to come out-I hope any up coming frosts don’t spoil it. Other climbers around about the place that are worth looking at right now are Ribes speciosum, Chaenomeles ‘Nivalis’, Clematis armandii ‘Apple Blossom’ and Jasminum nudiflorum. These are all plants that have been planted for a number of years now but there was a lot of new plantings last year and it is exciting to see some of them already start to make a move for their first year.

Out for sale we have our seed potatoes, onion sets, shallot sets, a wide selection of spring bulbs (click on the link below to see the full list), multiple primulas, as well as many shrubs and herbaceous. All our stock lists have been updated and are on our website available to download.
